Vijeta is an Indian-American singer from Chicago. She represents a boundless number of ambitious women across multiple cultures. Her international sound is alluring yet empowering; while her music is fun, colorful, and emotional. Inspired by her Indian roots and American Pop Culture, Vijeta delivers a rhythmic, melodic and powerful experience.
Vijeta fell in love with music through dance. As a child striving to find the balance between two cultures, Vijeta quickly found the middle ground with her love of music. While attending NIU, she was discovered by the legendary Debbie Allen who said she loved Vijeta’s spirit when she danced. She offered Vijeta a full scholarship to train at her prestigious dance academy and the opportunity to move to L.A. It was there that her role in an L.A. based girl group inspired her transition from dancer to singer/performer. Her experiences led to the beginning of her solo career. Vijeta is now based in Atlanta, where she is working towards the release of her untitled debut EP. She's currently performing her single, "Mr. Right" at multiple venues in preparation for her promotional tour. Vijeta has taken the independent approach to creating and releasing her music because in today's music industry owning your music is the top priority.
Vijeta will use her story and growing platform to inspire young girls while breaking stereotypes that women all over the world face. Her talent and experience will make a world of black and white see in color.
